The Script’s The Thing is back!

Now for its third Festival, we have two days and over 100 writers involved for a feast of fantastic performance. Like a “mini-Edinburgh Festival” happening right here in Dorset, you get to choose what you want to see! The Festival also has Q+As and talks from directors, producers, actors, and all those involved with making new work. You don’t have to be a writer to attend and it’s all FREE!

So whether you’re an experienced professional, first-time writer, or simply have a curiosity about scripts for stage, TV, film, podcasting and all writing for performance, the Festival is the place to be inspired and celebrate new writing.

How to find us

The Corn Exchange is on High East Street in the heart of the town. For Sat Nav users, our postcode is DT1 1HF. Nearby parking can be found in the various town centre car parks (see map above). Unfortunately there is no parking available on site.

Accessibility

Dorchester Corn Exchange has wheelchair access and toilet facilities for wheelchair users. If you have any specific requirements, then please let us know when booking tickets and we are more than happy to help.

Our bar

Our fully-licenced Corn Exchange Bar will be open half an hour before a performance starts.

Booking information

Tickets can currently be purchased online or by telephone. The telephone line is manned between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday. At all other times please leave your name, telephone number and ticket requirements and we will call you back.

A £1 Future Fund levy is included in most ticket prices to support our work. This levy is included in the published ticket price. Concessionary prices (for events promoted by Dorchester Arts): where available, these are offered to under 18s, students, those in receipt of benefits and people on low income regardless of age.
