Support Us

Children at DA

Dorchester Arts is a charity and we welcome any support that you, our audiences can give us.  There are many different ways that people can (and do) help us, which is warmly appreciated by us all.

However people support us – through sponsoring, donating, volunteering and so on – there is one outcome. In means that we are able to carry on presenting a programme with something for everyone, and sometimes push the boundaries to bring you something new and amazing. We can programme for children and young people, and make sure they grow up loving the arts.  We can partner other community groups and together make Dorchester and Dorset an exciting and vibrant place to live. So please consider helping us – as a member, a donor, a sponsor or a volunteer.  So why not…..

Make a Donation

We have our own CAF donations page where you can make one donation or set up a regular one. Regular donations make us smile!  Just click here to reach it.  We can claim Gift Aid on donations, which makes anything you give us worth an extra 25%.  So please donate!

Or if you are at one of venues keep an eye out for our Goodbox – an electronic device that can take donations quickly and easily from a card.

Dorchester Arts Dress Circle

Could you be part of our Dress Circle? Dress Circlers are a group of donors who come together to help Dorchester Arts support a high profile performance, or a new project that we want to try, or when we really need funding for something important. In return we can offer priority booking for some events, an acknowledgement if appropriate, and sometimes a small drinks reception. And of course, our grateful thanks!

Seat supporters

Would you like your name on one of the Corn Exchange seats? Donate £400 and you can have a plaque on the seat of your choice (although we can’t guarantee you can always sit in it!). This can be your name, or in memory of a loved one, or simply a date that means a lot to you. You can name the seat for three years.

Be a Member

Saving money on tickets, priority booking for popular shows, and invitations to special events are just some of the benefits that our membership scheme offers.  To be a member is just £20 a year – see here for details or contact the team on 01305 266926.

Sponsor Us

We can give business sponsors a stage.  Through supporting us you can reach thousands of people every year through our season brochures, as well as be associated with an organisation that is part of the Dorset community network. We have a range of packages that can be tailored to help companies of all sizes meet hospitality, marketing and promotional objectives.

Volunteer

Volunteers are our hidden treasure.  From stewarding shows to delivering leaflets we couldn’t do it without them. Do get in touch if you are interested.

Legacies

We would be very grateful if you could think of Dorchester Arts if you are making up a new Will, or a Codicil to your existing Will. If so, there are three types of gifts that you could make:

• A fixed amount of money, known as a ‘pecuniary legacy’.
• A particular item, such as a painting, or other object, known as a ‘specific legacy’.
• A percentage, or all the remainder of your estate, which is known as a ‘residuary legacy’.
AND Did you know that gifts to Dorchester Arts can save your estate inheritance tax (IHT)? The actual gift itself will qualify for 100% IHT exemption, as we are a registered charity. This will be in addition to your usual IHT exemptions such as the nil rate band and the residential nil rate band. Should you be leaving 10% or over of your estate to a registered charity or charities, then any IHT that your estate will pay will be at a reduced rate of 36%, rather than the usual 40%.

A legacy to us can assure our future, meaning we will be here for the next 40 years celebrating our Ruby Jubilee in 2064!

For further information about any of the above, please contact Jacky on 01305 266926 or at development@dorchesterarts.org.uk
