Simon Evans: Genius
Ever since he was a small boy, all Evans really wanted was to be recognised by the world as a man of genius. He has, until now, remained thwarted. The world seems increasingly indifferent to true genius of any kind, let alone Evans’. Endlessly distracted by the trivial, we allow the classical tools of grammar, logic and rhetoric to lie unregarded in the shed of consciousness, rusting to a picturesque hue that would actually look really great on Instagram. But which filter? Hmmm…
Simon is well known from TV shows such as Live at the Apollo and Stand Up for the Week, and as a regular on BBC Radio 4, where his own hugely successful, acclaimed radio show Simon Evans Goes To Market returns for a fourth series in Spring 2018.
Simon also makes regular contributions in a slightly more serious vein, as a regular guest on current affairs TV shows (most recently Andrew Neil’s This Week, BBC One) and on live radio, e.g. Radio Five’s Afternoon Edition. He was also part of the comedians’ team on University Challenge: The Professionals – narrowly beaten by eventual series winners the Ministry of Justice! – and has won Celebrity Mastermind: his specialist subject was Ernest Shackleton.
