Dorchester Arts is calling on all Wessex artists to submit work in any media for selection as part of the next Open Exhibition in July 2017.
This is the seventh biennial Dorchester Arts Open and over the years it has grown consistently: the 2015 Open attracted entries from more than 90 artists. The diversity of work is tremendous – the judges are as open to work from amateur artists as well-known names, making the show a wonderful opportunity for local people and visitors alike to discover the wealth of artistic talent the region has to offer.
For the first time this year submissions can include 3 dimensional work in any medium, as the exhibition will be held at Dukes Gallery instead of its previous home, Dorchester Arts Centre. As before the Open is linked to Evolver Magazine and Dorset Art Weeks. There are three prizes: free entry for a solo exhibition in DAW 2018, a feature in Evolver, and £250 cash.
The selection panel includes Mark Tattersall (Artistic Director, Dorchester Arts), Simon Barber (Editor, Evolver Magazine), Deborah Westmancoat (Winner of Exhibition Prize, DA Open 2015), Sarah Wild (Partner, Duke’s Auctioneers)
