Join Dorchester Youth Theatre as they present dramatic and truthful reminiscences of the Shire Hall’s amazing history as a Court of Justice. Meet the three caretakers who need to complete an urgent stocktake to try to decide which memories to keep and which should be lost.
Taking on a variety of characters, our actors will take the audience on a journey to learn more about true stories from Dorchester’s rich past: each one collected from former caretakers, judges, and council workers giving a personal perspective on Shire Hall.
Shire Hall Historic Courtroom Museum is on High West Street in the heart of the town. For Sat Nav users, the postcode is DT1 1UY. Nearby parking can be found in the various town centre car parks (see map above). Unfortunately there is no parking available on site.
Shire Hall Historic Courthouse Museum welcome all people with disabilities. Their staff and volunteers have received disability awareness training and they will do their best to help you and to make your visit to the Museum successful.
