16 December 2020: If you have a ticket for a cancelled event and would like a refund – or to donate your ticket price – our Box Office will be manned on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 December between 11am and 3pm.
9 November 2020: Unfortunately, due to ongoing Coronavirus restrictions and uncertainty, Dorchester’s 7th community play is being postponed until it is safe to continue with rehearsals and performances.
DCPA chairwoman Rowan Seymour said: “We do not intend to cancel Spinning the Moon, but we do understand and accept that it will not be possible to re-start rehearsals in January and perform in April 2021 due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. Therefore, we have decided that we will move forward when we are completely confident it is safe to do so, with the health and safety of everyone involved our utmost priority.” Rowan added: “We are in a good financial position and confident that we have the financial backing and reserves to move forward when appropriate.”
Anyone who bought tickets for the original performance can either hold them over until the production takes place or contact Dorchester Arts for a full refund as detailed below:
If you do wish to claim a refund, we would be grateful if you could call us on 01305 266926. This number will be manned between 10am and 4pm on Monday 16 November and Tuesday 17 November. Unfortunately, we are not open to personal callers and please bear with us at this busy time. If the phone goes to our answerphone this means we are talking to another customer, but please leave a message and we will endeavour to call you back. We do not hold your payment details on file, so you do need to contact us to claim a refund. There will be future windows for refunds, and we will notify you about these as appropriate. Please be assured that your money is secure.
Alternatively, we are asking people to consider making a donation to help DCPA through this difficult time and to keep their organisation robust. We would be grateful if you would consider this either by not claiming a refund or by claiming your refund and then making a donation, however small, via the link at the end of this email. We know that not everyone is in a position to do this, but all donations will help to ensure the future success of the community play.

2 November 2020: Please note that only the events listed below are currently live. If you have tickets for events dated between 1 November and 28 April you will be contacted by Box Office to arrange a refund or donation.
12th October 2020: Spinning the Moon Postponement. Due to ongoing Coronavirus restrictions and uncertainty, Dorchester’s 7th community play Spinning the Moon is being postponed until it is safe to continue with rehearsals and performances. Anyone who bought tickets for the original performance. can hold them over until the production takes place. Alternatively, Dorchester Arts will be in touch with all ticket holders who require a full refund. Further details will follow directly from the Box Office at Dorchester Arts.
12 October 2020: We were thrilled to hear we have received funding thanks to the government’s Culture Recovery Fund so that we can continue to be here for you and #HereForCulture. A big thank you Arts Council of England for recognising our contribution to the cultural and social life of Dorset. The grant will allow the organisation to build towards reopening in 2021 and further announcements will be made very soon about the restarting of performance events and community activities, along with updates about plans to improve arts facilities in the County Town.
1 April 2020: The Dorchester Arts office is temporarily closed. Rest assured that tickets for rescheduled events remain valid and we will be in touch as soon as we reopen to deal with any reallocations or refunds. Many of our shows remain on sale for later in the year, and we would encourage you to book for these, safe in the knowledge that a full refund or transfer will be available should the performance be cancelled or rescheduled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
